First Assignment Yay!! -__-

I received my first assignment today and being a very enthusiastic person I've attacked it was savage monstrosity! This assignment is to produce a 2000 word essay on a scientific theory of your choice. My topic is the discovery of the DNA molecule and its molecular shape.

Like with all essays I made a rough plan

As you can see some of my plan ended up Naruto/Harry Potter themed as well :/ But I've started writing tonight and have an extremely rough first draft and here it is....saved in Google Docs format (because Google is EPIC!):

Gathering Those College Materials

Books can sometimes be the most elusive of creatures.....

So I'm here trying to prepare myself for the year ahead and get all the "gear" required to do so. as an avid book fan the first thing on my list to get are books. So I run out to my local Waterstones thinking they have a decent education section and I'll get some sort of idea on how much I'll be forking out. "Sorry we don't do BTEC books here" is what I got.

"Fair enough" I thought. at this point I was feeling slightly annoyed mainly because the next bookshop is 30 minutes in the direction (Foyles in the Stratford Westfield) I just came from. After a long and somewhat sweaty bus ride up to Westfield, I'm in Foyles...They have none in store or in stock.

I just raged! Right there, in the bookshop. At this point in my little venture I decided to make my way home and like most regular people, use the "interweb". Since then I have found out that the book I need costs around £25 so I'm still annoyed as I'm being swindled out of my money. Arrrgghh!!

Hopefully after this there wont be many rant posts. I will try to keep them to a minimum.

A Fresh Start....however cliché this might sound

So on a mere whim, I decided to set this blog up mainly to help myself (because I can be quite the selfish prick!) but also, I suppose for any future students that might be able to use this.

This year will be my second year in college but first on the Applied Science (see the clever pun in the title now?) BTEC course I'm on.... unfortunately. To quickly summarise why I'm in this particular predicament is that basically, I cocked up all of my AS's and, as a result I've had to enrol on a BTEC course this year.

While the initial shock of failing and the realisation that I would in some form be repeating the year robbed me of my will to live (theoretically of course!) I hopefully now have mustered up the self motivation and all those other characteristics that generally mentioned in situations such as this.

As part of that self motivation I will be posting work I have done on this applied science course on this blog to help organise my work and keep everything including myself organised and occasionally the random comment or link etc that's totally unrelated of course!
